Amilin Cruval.

Friends generally call him Lin. People who have tormented him in the past have called him Ami. To this day the nickname Ami still makes him uncomfortable.

A very slight five feet and four inches, a fact that he is somewhat disgruntled about.

Windspeaker Perfumer.

Amilin makes perfumes for both gentlemen and ladies to wear. It is a craft he is quite proud of and he gets many of the items needed for his craft from Iksha, though he lives outside of the borders to guard what he calls his "secret recipes" for his perfumes. They do, after all, have the unique ability to make their wearer smell for longer than a normal perfume, so he guards his formula closely. The farther away from society he lives, the less of a chance they will be stolen.

His profession often requires him to travel, searching for new scents, though he does spend plenty of time in his workshop as well.

Ability(s):

In order to travel from place to place easier he's increased his skill with his ability to glide. It helps him to harvest rare items for his scents as well as travel quickly from one area to the next. He's working on increasing his stamina for this skill, but by far it is his strongest ability.

He has also honed his skill to be able to hear things more clearly using the wind. You never know when you're going to need to eavesdrop the location of a new scent!

His combat abilities are basic at best. They're just enough for self defense, but nowhere near spectacular.

Weapon(s):

Large, bladed fans that he can fold up for easy travel. He can wield them with a certain amount of ability, but he is by no means an expert. They tend to surprise people, though, which he likes.

Personality:

Certainly, he's easy going, and very quiet, at least at first glance. Eccentric is the keyword to describe him, with his flamboyant style of dress and his love of food and exotic scents. He's a bit vain, to be honest, though not so much that it really impedes people from liking him. In fact, he's probably pretty easy to like. He's friendly, and truly concerned about others' well being, most specifically his Elders. Kind to a fault, he'll go out of his way to help other just as easily as he'll go out of his way to get an item to make a new, one of a kind, scent.

All that being said, he is a bit silly. He's a tiny bit flighty, and his vanity means that he tends to spend beyond his limits sometimes. Truly terrified of going old and losing his good looks, he's fixated on somehow passing his genetics on before he gets too old to be really attractive anymore (though this does take a back seat to helping others and his job most days). He has a lot of insecurities because of past bullying that makes him doubt himself, and just like anyone else he has his bad days. Pointedly over dramatic, he has a tendency to blow things out of proportion.

Background:

Born in Iksha, he was always naturally small and weak. His early life was filled with bullying by others his own age because he was not as naturally talented a magician as many others his age. His mother was intensely religiously devout and his father a cook so he was always expected to run the family business when he grew up. He never really liked that idea much, but he didn't have any other option so he just sucked it up and accepted his fate for the longest time.

Then he met a Firesigner who happened to make perfumes and fell in love with her art. She agreed to take him on as an apprentice and he fled from home, coming to live with her underneath her roof. Those years were some of his happiest, though he carried the secret sorrow with him from abandoning his family. He spent his days in study and his evenings becoming a part of the vibrant culture of Iksha. It shaped the eccentric, fun loving person he is today.

Years later he returned home to reconcile with his family, who easily accepted him back even though he was not what they had envisioned. He lived at home for a few more years, practicing his craft and coming to know his sister, who shared their father's passion for cooking. After a time, though, he found he no longer wished to burden them by running his craft from their home, so he set out and built his own workshop in the rocklands, where he has lived and worked ever since.

Now he lives a very active life, traveling all over in search of new scents. Though his old master has since passed on, he keeps her art alive by practicing it fervently. He would never force his profession on his child, however, so he searches constantly for a young person willing to take up his mantle as well as a mate, since he realizes he must soon settle down. To this day he is close to his family, whom he visits often.

Additional:

He is in love with the peacock, and has styled his clothing around it. Not particularly religiously devout, but a believer. He's more concerned with material things most of the time and regularly changes which bird his outfit is based around.
